He appeared briefly in an English film, Holy Smoke! as a singer. He has been inspired by unheard compositions of Kabir, Kamal and Raidas during the beginning phase of his career. In the era of 1970s, those days were rare which never telecasted at least one bhajan of Hari in AIR Vividh Bharathi, in his morning program from 6:00 am to 6.30 am. He and his wife were easily approachable and were mobbed by followers at public concerts and temples. He was a simple person living a simple life and his life style well reflected in his songs too. When other singers belonging to his era strived hard to get opportunities in Bollywood, Hari focused on devotional songs only. During a trip to Guyana, he met Nandini and both got married later. His first album was recorded by HMV, leading Music Company of India during that time. After India partition in 1947, his family moved to India. Hari Om Sharan was born in Lahore, British India on September 26, 1932. His bhajans are sung across All Over India. In a singing career spanning over 35 years, he released over 20 Bhajan albums. Most of his bhajans were dedicated to Bhagwan Ram and Hanuman. Hari om Sharan was a legendary Hindu devotional singer and lyricist.
